Our Little Angel is About to Arrive!

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012

We don’t know if it’s a boy or girl. Like it or not, it’s going to be a surprise. For all three ultrasounds, the baby has either had its knees up or had them clamped together. It is determined to keep the gender a secret!! Slade is determined it’s a boy but only because he HAS to have a boy first. There has to be the older brother to protect the next one. Well, the cards are laid out and only time will tell. I think it will be a boy, only because I want a girl first.

And this baby is FEISTY! Even during the first ultrasound, the tech had a hard time getting a good view because the baby was so squirmy. Since then, nothing has changed. It kicks and pokes like you wouldn’t believe. The cute little kicks I had during the second trimester were quickly replaced with “HOLY CRAP!” Jabs and body checks! With moves and aggression like this, it can’t be a girl…not my little angel…

I’m due July 12th so we’ll see what kind of surprise this baby has in store for us. I will be taking the summer off writing and, mostly likely, blogging. (I have to be realistic here.) I’m not certain how long it will be before the baby and I will be able to negotiate some kind of routine.

Right now, I’m working like crazy to get all the baby stuff organized while working on the next two books in the Legacies of Talimura fantasy series. I figure, the more I can get done before the baby comes, the easier it will be once our little angel enters the world kicking and screaming. (Because, of course, that’s the only way to go. My mom says when I was born, I screamed the loudest to let all the doctors and nurses know that I was here.)

The above pic was taken at 19 1/2 weeks, the last we’ve seen of our angel. I will be sure to post a picture of the baby in the coming weeks so you can see our little miracle. Any last minute advice or stories about labor or the first few months with the baby is GREATLY appreciated! This is our first so this is all new to us!

:)
