THE EPIC SERIES RETURNS
GAME OF THRONES
FINALLY!!
Season 2 of George R. R. Martin’s epic fantasy series, Game of Thrones, begins Sunday, April 1st at 9pm ET/MT. The season promises to be more thrilling than the last. This is the only television series that has ever captivated me with such a power that I cannot miss an episode. I recorded all of them on the PVR and was about to watch them again early this month only to learn my husband, Slade, had taped over the episodes to make room for other movies and TV shows.
“You did what?”
(One of my Twitter friends joked that deleting the episodes was like taping over a wedding video. Okay, so maybe it’s not that bad but at the same time…)
Throughout the series, the episodes, the characters are so compelling, the story so gripping, it hooked us from the first episode and the addiction began. Each episode made us want even more. And the way they conclude each episode . . .
Slade was constantly running to the computer after an episode to look up what happens next. Then, he would turn to me with that sly grin, trying to tempt me with the knowledge. I didn’t want to know. I hate spoilers. I’m the kind of reader who will cover the bottom of the page during a climatic scene if I see italics or capitals. BUT, sometimes, he couldn’t resist and as much as I told him to stop, he always managed to slip something through.
I’m sure he’ll be pulling the same stunts this time around.
The series is so good, there are times that Slade and I have watched both the 9pm and 11pm viewings. We just can’t get enough.
At long last, April 1st is here. Once again, we will renew the addiction.
I would love to hear from you!

BOOKS:
If you love the television series, the books are every bit as brilliant. (I have both the ebooks and the audiobooks.) George R. R. Martin is the co-executive producer of the television series to ensure that his masterpiece is everything he envisioned.
BOARD GAME:
Take it to the next level with A Game of Thrones: The Board Game
It’s a war strategy game to claim the iron throne. Players can enter the world of George R. R. Martin’s best-selling A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy series and take control of one of the great houses of Westeros. Using warfare, diplomacy, and treachery, players vie for control of the Seven Kingdoms.
COOKBOOK:
And yes, there’s even a Game of Thrones Cookbook. Curious? Check out Gwynne Watkins interview with author, Alan Kisler who teaches you how to make more than 150 recipes from Westeros and beyond. Of course, there are some changes and substitutions. Nobody wants to eat a raw horse heart like the dish, Khaleesi’s Heart.
